چکیده

• Cognitive functions under methadone maintenance treatment (MMT) were assessed. Delay discounting increases, but other forms of impulsivity are normal in patients. Impaired associative learning MMT patients is related to depression and anxiety symptoms. Increased delay craving correlated with impulsive personality scores. Cue-induced drug modulated by withdrawal Methadone effective decreasing opioid use or facilitating abstinence. Previous studies using small disorder samples suggest that cognitive impairments including executive may partially improve on MMT, a range deficits persist. However, systematic assessments larger needed confirm the profile MMT. We assessed four types (delay discounting, reflection impulsivity, risk taking motoric impulsivity), functioning (spatial working memory, paired strategic planning) cue-induced relatively large population (115 patients, 115 healthy controls). The relationships between addiction-related variables also as well was increased while lower than controls. Paired additionally impaired, which explained levels Within group, drug-cue induced scores positively self-reported urgency, unrelated dosage, duration methadone, symptoms, presence nicotine dependence. Our findings highlight suggesting potential role for trait effects discounting. Although previous smaller have shown impaired function, our sample size chronic we only observed depressive symptoms highlighting managing comorbid further optimize function.

Cognitive Control in Opioid Dependence and Methadone Maintenance Treatment

BACKGROUND Substance misuse is associated with cognitive dysfunction. We used a stop signal task to examine deficits in cognitive control in individuals with opioid dependence (OD). We examined how response inhibition and post-error slowing are compromised and whether methadone maintenance treatment (MMT), abstinence duration, and psychiatric comorbidity are related to these measures in individ...
